Jazz, classical, folk music, heavy metal (especially black metal and post metal) and punk (especially post-hardcore and math rock) are all better than classic rock.

Classic rock and prog are definitely better than pop music, EDM, rap, and a lot of the basic indie rock/grunge of the late 80's/90s/00s/10s, but overall it a mid genre. Classic rock is ultimately just another form of pop music that is intended to be catchy, accessible, easy to listen to, and enjoyable to casual listeners and non-musicians. Great music requires a lot more thought and is usually not super accessible because it has a lot of subtletly and intricate structure. The entire approach to rock music is pretty simplistic and normie tier, and a lot of rock musicians I've met are actively hostile to formal training and music theory, to their own detriment. Of course, that's not always true - there are highly skilled rock musicians, and way more than you'd find in rap or EDM, but it's still a small minority, and they tend to gravitate to metal or prog.
