There is no reasonable way to support a large scale ground invasion. The only starting points would be east turkey or, through the persian gulf, Saudi Arabia. Both countries are highly unlikley to support such an undertaking but lets assume they go through Turkey. The terrain heavily favours the defender and guerilla tactics, the US would have air dominance but this does not help against drones and rockets which Iran is able to produce in hardend facilities on a large scale. Their ideology does not allow surrender and encourages martyrdom, the US forces would fight in a highly unpopular war for Israel with pretty low morale. This might end the conventional war but every global opponent of the US would start to fund the iranian Jihadies so it could "end" in something like Iraq or Afghanistan. What alot of people also seem to forget is: Iran already has biological and chemical WMD, if the regime has nothing left to lose they could use those in devastating attacks on civilian or military targets. They would also at least try to close the persian golf, which would blockade the vast majority of fossil fuel supply to the world. The resulting economic chaos would fuck up everything, while the US is energy independent it would make the upkeep and logistics of the invasion harder and the US has far more "fronts" to watch than just this one.

The last time I looked up what a invasion of Iran would be like, I saw people say the US could just invade Iraq again and then use occupied Iraq as land to directly send troops into Iran, which to me sounds like the only efficient way to invade Iran because the country looks far too big and mountainous to invade and fully occupy if you're just invading from a small piece of land into the Northwestern portion of the country.

Destroying the iranian army is easy. It's trying to occupy a giant country with 130 million people and is more mountainous than Afghanistan. It's going to be the occupation of Iraq times 10. In my opinion, you should divide it up. Like the northern part will be persia. The southern part baluchistan. The south west can join iraw. The north western part joins the Iraqi kurds. The eastern part? Not sure.

Just by looking at the fucking map, it's obvious that this war will be completely different from the one in Iraq.
It is impossible to overturn the tactical advantages of any enemy with technologically superior mechanized forces like the 73rd Easting, and quickly force them to surrender in the double encirclement.
Anyone who thinks the Iraq scenario could be replicated in Iran is incredibly delusional. It would be a bloodbath akin to a hypothetical scenario where a Allied invasion of the Japanese mainland had become a reality, applied to the present day. While not everyone is as bloodthirsty as they were back then, any sane military officer would refrain from ordering a ground invasion in such a place in the modern era.
And, you idiot, think about it. What happened after the US military defeated the regular army in the Iraq War and took over the country? It was thanks to Iranian military advisors that 4500 amerimuts were sent to Valhalla or McDonald's in heaven by Iraqi Arab niggers.

A possible scenario is doubling down on this strategic bombing, declaring victory without ever defeating Iran, and ending it there for a while.

I highly doubt the top brass in the US military would consider a ground invasion at all unless there are MUCH higher stakes at play then the public is aware of.

i disagree. Having no air force or air defence assets is suicide for sure, no doubt. But artillery in WW2 was the king of the battlefield and still is to this day. I think air assets are the lubricant that allows you to actually advance but without artillery superiority it would take forever to kill the enemies standing in your way, or at least make them retreat. It is responsible for the vast majority of casualties in Ukraine. Drone videos would have people believe FPV suicide drones kill the most, but that is false. I think western support for Ukraine is crucial to its survival thus far, but if you look at the start of the war, before large amounts of equipment had been funnelled in, the Russians were aiming to seize key transportation and logistic hubs like Chernihiv Sumy and Kharkov in the east in order to facilitate the movement of Russian equipment into Ukraine. Russia primarily uses trucks for their transportation, but trains are 10x better than trucks. Trains are the king of logistics in conventional warfare. They failed to get enough men and equipment into Ukraine because 1, the road and train infrastructure is very poor in north east Ukraine,(also surrounded by forests forcing you to only use the roads and have exposed flanks) and 2, because Ukraine resisted more than they expected. I believe this is why that massive Russian convoy of trucks and tanks everyone laughed at had occurred, because they did not anticipate their equipment being held up while trying to encircle Chernihiv.
