America gets extremely hot+humid on the east coast. My mother went to Philly 40 years ago and just melted. Was so pale-skinned and zombified with the heat that people were staring at her. I've read old stories where poorer people in the south would sleep under the stilted house on the cooler dirt with the dogs as the dogs instinctively knew they'd die otherwise.
Ireland/UK's problem is that the humidity is there but there's zero AC and these temps haven't been experienced before.

I live in Colorado without AC and it got up to 91F today around 32C.

What you do is you put any kind of fan you can actually fit into your window. My windows are big enough for box fans so I put those in.
The air must have an exit so you open up a window opposite of the fans somewhere doesn't necessarily have to be in the same room just somewhere for air to flow out of.
You do this at night. 4am is the coolest time but I do it all night until 6:30 pm I even set my alarm and then I close up my house like a bubble.
You may during the day leave one window slightly open in the most upstairs area to allow a little heat to escape. Do not open more than one window and the heat vent window during the day needs to only be slightly open or half way open.
And you'll stay a lot cooler.
It's a bit of hassle but again, I don't have air conditioning and have to manage my house so it doesn't get too hot.

Thanks for the info Colorado bro. I know that would help a lot. I wish I had American style windows. I've got picrel tilt turn style and the AC I've got is a hassle to attach to them.
