The other problem though is good fucking luck enforcing it. Sites already have the "Are you over 13/18/etc?" check that every kid ignores for obvious reasons. I also don't see France as a police state that'll start issuing everyone internet ID licenses that they mandate websites to verify against or they get blacklisted from the ISPs there.
I could see the USA doing it whenever the Democrats win again though. Surprised my country hasn't tried to pull a power move and do it in the name of curbing 'online hate', despite having no infrastructure here to even handle it.
