Some say that labeling the Slavs as Untermench was simply a reason to justify German imperialism to achieve a Greater Germany. The Slavs had a lot of land it wasn't as densely populated as Western Europe. It was the logical choice in expansion. Also ww1 and food embargo of Germany certainly played into that. Not to mention that many Slavs fought for him, even had their own SS divisions.
Perhaps he thought that simce few Slavic cities matched the Grandure of western nations that that it was something to look down upon.
