I can't speak for you and your area but I've lived in the same town in the PNW for over 30 years, since I was a young child. We used to have pretty mild summers here, not unusual to break 100 degrees in a year but only for a day or two at most. The normal is now 2-3 per year week long periods of sustained 100+ degree weather. Our winters have changed too. We used to get a gradual accumulation of snow on the mountains. A gradual amount of precipitation through fall-spring for that matter. Now it's intense bursts of heavy precipitation with long stretches of nothing.
Climate change doesn't mean it's getting hotter. It's why the green house gas theory is an easily provable hoax. Our winters are harsher. Record cold as well as record heat. The weather is more extreme.
So unless you have some weird definition of what climate change is, maybe you should ask the local old timers what the weather was like when they where kids.

Greek houses are built differently though.
All the walls are bright white or a very bright colour.
They're made of thick material, typically stone because it's difficult to heat up and sinks the heat down into the ground rather easily.
They have high ceilings so the warm air can convect up and circulate itself, with mechanical ventilation to keep the air fresh and prevent moulding.
Then they have AC plumbed into that, not because it's absolutely necessary, but because AC is dirt cheap and comfy.
That's the typical Greek home.
Unfortunately they're also putting up big concrete towers and those absolutely do require AC, because all that hot air collects up the top and makes the top floor, maybe the two floors beneath it as well, uninhabitable.
