All the walls are bright white or a very bright colour.
They're made of thick material, typically stone because it's difficult to heat up and sinks the heat down into the ground rather easily.
They have high ceilings so the warm air can convect up and circulate itself, with mechanical ventilation to keep the air fresh and prevent moulding.
Then they have AC plumbed into that, not because it's absolutely necessary, but because AC is dirt cheap and comfy.
That's the typical Greek home.
Unfortunately they're also putting up big concrete towers and those absolutely do require AC, because all that hot air collects up the top and makes the top floor, maybe the two floors beneath it as well, uninhabitable.
