>>508210801>imagine how fake history isThere is limit to how fake news can be. For example, it's impossible to publish news about new war starting, if it didn't actually start, or a monarch changing if one didn't change. This means, that as far as macro-history goes, periodic press reporting current events is a genuinely reliable source from which history can be reconstructed.
The system of periodic press was properly established in Europe only in 17th century. In all likelihood, the Peace of Westphalia is the first fully reliable snapshot of European political map which is available. You can maybe go 100 years backwards from it using gradually diminishing sources and try to reconstruct something. The border of modern era history is there. Anything before that is based on random documents which were pulled by religious institutions out of their asses, and on "extrapolation" by government historians on payroll that can be compared to reconstructing a whole dinosaur using one tiny bone. Also full of fantasy shit like women popes, women warlords in titty armor, telepathically controlled nomad hordes that need no food, glorious kangz fighting in the vanguard of their army with +5 legendary swords, child crusades and other things that for some reason never happen outside of "medieval".
As of antiquity, the main proof of it actually being real, is that it's way too complex and advanced for 17th century retards to fabricate, so it was definitely there.
