GenX was playing in the streets while the Boomers zoom zoom zoomed around in their gas guzzlers. It wasn't until they were done growing and Millenials started showing up that all the horrible toxic shit was starting to be banned. There were A LOT of terrible things that were just out there for kids to find. Science was progressing quick enough to produce some new big things but nobody knew how dangerous it all was.
And before somebody gets their panties twisted, the generations don't have any political power until their generation starts to hit 40. So while Boomers gassed GenX, it was the previous generations that were responsible.
