Yes. I like to divide christianity (and pretty much any major religion) into exoteric and esoteric interpretation. The god the mainstream believers believe in is the god of the exoteric paradigm, an anthropomorphized being, which is clearly a human projection as it shares all human psychic traits and "defects". This is the "sky daddy" meme.

The esoteric interpretation depicts an ineffable "God", more like a "force" or "dynamic" of existence. They juggle all these ineffable elements, collapsing duality and creating a bunch of paradox that can't be communicated to people directly because people think in binary. This esoteric/exoteric split is what makes religions interesting to me, it's like a wrapper/candy dynamic, and the vast majority of people chew on the wrapper.

Anyway, i have my own paradigm with my own cosmology derived from it. You can achieve this by synthetizing syncretized trends and axioms. The figure of jesus has been copypasted in various cultures before and after the christian iteration, that makes it an archetype and a tool for communication of certain "teachings".

My point is experiential insight can't be communicated as knowledge, which results in surface "understanding" of a set of data. This is why historical figures with spiritual backgrounds rely on metaphor and hyperbole, they're like a bridge for this experiential insight that's only truly understood when experienced individually.

It's also why meditation praxis exists across cultures, christian prayer, daoist cultivation, hindu dharana, buddhism vipassana/Shamatha..etc. It's a way of producing experiential insight.
