Good for building networks of manufacturing. First we're making parts in West Virginia, then we're making whole machines in Detroit, or something like that. We have the railroads to connect all of these regions as well.

It's honestly not even just about GDP, as I alluded to in my first post. If you make the central part of the nation nicer, then everything else is affected too for the better.
