I have a handful of crows at home that I feed unsalted peanuts. One of them gets really close to me, comes within about a 1.5' of my hand but sadly wont take a peanut out of it. Sometimes when Im sitting outside he/she will show up (I assume) for food but when I toss a peanut he wont go for it and will instead just perch within about 5ft of me for a minute and watch me scroll on my phone for a few minutes before leaving.
Im genuinely amazed by them. They have their own personalities. Some are fucking annoying, loud, and twitchy. Others are calm, curious, chill, while some are just disinterested in everything. Theyre vocalizations are interesting too because I only ever heard crows make annoying cawwing noises but since feeding them and hanging out with them they make a bunch of different noises towards each other- like a rapid clicking noise, or a sort of bark, or a huffing noise.
Cool birds. Theyre great.
