>>508291672It isn't in Russia's interest. For one thing it completely takes the north south corridor out of action. That means Russia has to send its oil a much longer route to sell. It means it loses access to Iranian weapons, particularly drones, which they've relied on. It also loses its buddy in the Middle East to (possibly) a brand new pro US regime.
The oil price is correct, that's a good thing for Russia but it comes at a huge cost.
Political instability is being really overstated by /pol/ and people like Tucker Carlson (a literal Russian shill). I don't believe Trump is going to lose his MAGA base, and he's not able to run for another term regardless. It's really only a small % of the GOP who oppose this decision too.
With that said, I agree that a boots on the ground war would be something Russia would exploit. It would mean a lot of aid goes to the Middle East and not Ukraine too. I don't think Trump wants boots on the ground though, he doesn't want Iraq mk2.
Ask yourself why every pro Russian eceleb is going crazy about this strike on Iran if it was so great for Russia? They might pretend to seethe but they're going overboard with it.
