I just dont see the southwest and southern areas having that many whites, most will flee the populated city centers and go to the midwest since most people live on the east coast.

If balkanization occurs, I predict it will look closer to some unholy mix between Renaissance Italy's city-state fiefdoms and modern racially subdivided South Africa. Larger cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.) will be strongholded by remaining regime forces as vital to remaining logistics. Smaller cities will fall under control of dominant local political forces. Rural areas will remain dangerous grey zones unless routinely patrolled and guarded. Within cities, "black" or "white" parts of town will begin to form again as hard times make everyone tribe up.

Expect more violent crime, way more-- often for no good reason. Expect to find yourself considering Kevlar, trauma kits, and extra magazines for your handgun as part of your "everyday carry". Expect to still be expected to go to work on Monday, despite the food riots. This is a well documented thing that's happening of white flight, and it's happening right now. The midwest is really only the safe white part of america where you can raise white kids.

Flat terrain is god tier for defense especially with hesco walls fortifiyng compounds and safe bases and the defenders have good defenses. Just look at ukraine.
