The US didn't fly B-2's to drop bombs they just launched cruise missiles from offshore. They knew bunker busters wouldn't do shit and weren't going to risk the very bad optics of getting our fancy planes shot down.

This entire week has been nothing but disgusting lies from the Trump admin. To what end? I don't know, but I think it's pathetic and has never made America look worse. The question is why are we doing this at all? What is being achieved? So far I see nothing being achieved other than making America look like absolute shit and deeply pissing off more than half of Trump's former base.

The only thing that I can think of that would justify this charade would be if it's a way to get Netanyahu's government out of power in Israel. For example if he agreed to leave in exchange for a show of power against Iran he could use to try and cover his ass or save his reputation. That probably won't happen but if that is the intended result then maybe this is a worthwhile exercise. No one serious believes that is what is going on, of course.

This is the only angle from which any of this makes sense. Israel certainly can't sustain the losses they are taking from the missile attacks from Iran. If there is regime change in Israel as a result of this theater, maybe we can move forward with our own government. If not, they really have no chance at all to restore credibility.
