James Bond is a dead franchise after Spectre and whatever the last one was called. There's nothing about it to save or champion at this point, like so many other IPs that have been ruined in the last decade. It's possible to bring it back from the dead, but no one should have any optimism about it until the film proves itself. To that end, Bond's race doesn't matter as long as he's British and a man.
