remember in the 90s how if a conflict broke out all the politicians would be reserved and diplomatic like "we hope you minimize civilian casualties", "we hope for a fast resolution", "we want to make sure that this will not impact the environment", "we ask the response to be proportionate", "do not hurt the wildlife", etc, very far times behind indeed
