To me l think its a combination of alot of things.
The whole bro-podcast sphere becoming pro-Trump made it pretty hard for the left to paint that group of people as

On some level just winning the presidency (in particular the popular vote) just makes it hard to sell the idea the right is made up of social outcasts and the maladjusted.
