the west will suffer population loss and a high burden for retirees, but israel's demographic crisis will be just as bad but much more insidious.

The religious zionist (basically israel's expansionist and ethno-nationalist group) and ultra-orthodox populations are reproducign very fast, while the secular population is slightly below replacement level.
So in the future we will see israel essentially turn into afghanistan, and possibly get themselves into a war of annihilation with the arabs, which they would lose simply due to the sheer population/economic imbalance.
