The only thing you can really predict is regions that the U.S. will split into with any accuracy.

PNW midwest would definitely be the largest due to natural resources, food production, and safe enough to defend with militia men.

Lake mead has a lot of water, there might be a big settlement right outside Las Vegas but not much else in the state, most will just go north.

I would guess the rest of Nevada would be deserted or sparsely populated.

Also most of Nevada right now is federal land, so not many people live there or have permanent stuff setup, so there would be very few people living their given its hot climate, rural and lack of water.

Even northern Arizona is cooler and gets more water than Nevada.

The thing with rural land scouting is you have to find the right factors when purchasing to make it be a good deal.

Rural land should

i think like other people have said a full on collapse wouldnt be so clean with current state borders, there are people that identify far more regionally than others but the big hurdle with some areas would be geographiy and being able to hold a semblance of control over said areas. The Southwest would probably be far more arbitrary with its borders since so much is flat desert land and the East has so much civilization that it would for sure have some form of control from the old government tor local law, but the West would probably be pockets of City/Town states with vast tracts of wilds between (not even factoring in National parks that have little to no settlements inside them)
