Wouldn't have worked under Hitler, he was to ideological with his hatred of Slavs/communism and his desire for living space. Now if the left faction of the nazis (Strasserites) had won out it might've been a different story. Stalin was already a (unofficial) part of the right opposition within the USSR allied with Bukharin against Trotsky (who is similar to Hitler in his ideological fanaticism), so if cooler and more pragmatic heads came to power in Germany I don't doubt that they could've begun working together.
