You don't look like an idiot, but the "war" was always premised on Iran's response. If they decide to sink a carrier and bomb us bases then yes, Trump would have dragged US in a war. If Iran just keeps bombing Israel while rebuits its AD capacity with the help of China/Russia and creates a big military detterence while it keeps enriching uranium, then no.

Even if iran is dumb enough to retaliate, there will be no "war." We were able to take out some of their most guarded targets without a shot fired back. They dont even control their own airspace, which is also why they're not likely to do anything that risks further escalation because we showed them we can hit them any time, anywhere.
