>See someone get asked a question.
>Instead of racking their brains, mulling it over, activating those nuerons to promote intellectual exercise and independent thought they get out their phones
>They ask a chatbot to think for them
>Until it generates a reply they sort of soft sundown like a dementia or alzheimers patient and experience a blank period where their face drops all emotion, they start vacantly into the middle distance and simply stop thinking until a sound notifys them the machine is done thinking for them
>The people that do this seem to be losing their ability to remember things, do basic math, imagine concepts without visuals in front of them to get the mental engines turning over and just in general seem to be turning into literal videogame npcs at best, dementia speedrunners at worst
>This is the majority of the general public in the western world now.
>As medical journals are publishing papers that yes indeed relying on a chatbot in the moments where you usually go "oh what was the name of that thing?" and ruminate to force your brain to think and form new connections across its neural net is actually causing your brain to degrade and your intelligence to burn away like an elderly person with a degenerative condition.
Doesn't this worry people? its like how after smartphones became the norm a lot of people didn't even notice they lost their ability to write with a pen until they try and go "oh my god how could this happen??". Not only are these ai things often full of shit and will give people incorrect, life endangering results. But just in general to live in times such as these and see people reduce themselves voluntarily to a cattle like state is the most dystopian thing i think i've ever seen.
Think how many politicians in positions of power are already one of these half lives already and how its only going to get worse until techbros move onto their next "next big thing" hustle when the bubble bursts.
