In all seriousness it's a recent phenomenon caused by the high cost of living. In the 90s and early 2000s nobody really gave a fuck, being with a younger woman was seen as a measure of success. Women didn't care too much because they could divorce rape their husbands and live relatively comfortable doing whatever pointless job they were doing.
Nowadays women are being laid off in record numbers, ai is replacing women, diversity quotas are being rolled back, prices have ballooned and divorce raping is less lucrative. Women now need men more than they have had to in the past 40 years. Hence the older women who haven't prepared for the hard times ahead don't want younger women stealing their resources.
