One time I locked myself out of my truck with my phone inside. My friend had tools which I went and got. Then I got to work prying the doors open. Next thing I know I see a mother-son duo out on they porch watching me intently. I went up to them and asked them to call the cops for them to come unlock my truck. They were like "dude, this is LA. They are not gonna come out for that". To their credit they offered to call a locksmith. I declined. Then I decided to walk around to see what else I could do when I spotted a cop car. I flagged them down and explained my predicament. They were like "dude, we aint got no tools". Since this was late at night the local Fire Station was also closed. I asked a bunch of ambulance guys and they had no tools neither. Long story short, I had my friend call a locksmith and they showed up at 3am and popped my driver side door open in 2 minutes.
Turns LA is not middle of nowhere Idaho cum Vermont cum Alabama towns where cops help you out with that sort of shit.
