even now, trump has given them a way out while saving face. they unconditionally surrender, allow international troops to come in and inspect/occupy all nuclear/military related sites, and give the people an referendum (run by independent international groups) for whether to return the shah to power or not
and if/when the shah is back, there could be a trial of the members of the current regime and if found guilty they must accept the verdict and consequences
the alternative is total annihilation by the US military of the entire country and every last person that supports the current iranian regime
it doesn't take a game theorist to figure out the best choice
