No he's right. You can load nuclear missiles into normal subs, and that will make them part of the first strike or second strike programs, but it doesn't make the submarines nuclear.

Nuclear powered subs are what people mean when they say nuclear subs. HOWEVER nuclear subs, by nature of being nuclear powered, can operate for much longer without resupply and thus there is a heavy overlap between subs that are nuclear and subs that are equipped with nukes.

I can't believe I voted for this retard n three times, but in all honesty, what choice did we have? With that being said, nuclear submarines are inferior to Russian submarines. I had a friend who was (stationed?) on a US nuclear sub. He told me the Russian subs are superior because of how stealthy they are. They running batteries. The only time they could get a location on a Russian sub is when they surface just long enough to crank their generators and charge their batteries. But when I say surface, they don't come all the way to the surface, and it takes around 15 minutes. He told me they can literally be right beside them and they wouldn't know it. It's how Russian subs are able to get so close to US mainland. It's something to keep in mind if the SHTF.
