Now? He's been impeached multiples times and it didn't matter. He dodged responsbility for Jan 6. He got re-elected. The Supreme Court said that presidents basically can't do crimes while in office. He can't be elected for a third term anyway, so polling doesn't matter to him, and honestly he's probably going to die in the next 3-5 years anyway just due to his age.
So why, exactly, should he hold anything back? What consequences could there even be for going 'too far' now? You think the republican controlled congress is going to impeach him, remove him from office, throw him in jail? What a laugh.
