Got to the point where I was working on filling out a WOFT packet to apply to be a helicopter pilot and leave my 6 figure job late last year and then promptly stopped answering calls from recruiters.
I don't want to give the best years of my life to the American military to fight in some sandy hellhole for Israel. If it were easier to become a JayHawk pilot I probably would have gone that route, but unfortunately they almost exclusively hire former Mil pilots and there are fewer slots for the job than most fighter aircraft.

The last time I tried was last year. I can't get in due to an old arrest, wasn't even convicted. I scored very high on the ASVAB last time I took it. I'm nearly a college graduate now, with intelligence experience. Quite frankly I think they're making a big mistake, but DoD regulations say otherwise and don't want to risk liability. The military is a joke man. Once you start replacing your military with foreigners and disregard families with generations of service you're really opening yourself up to wider liability than a few people with specks of dirt on their chest.

I've considered the FFL. I've always wanted military training under my belt. Despite all of the bullshit it does teach you good habits, the importance of routine, self discipline, etc.

Military is a disaster at the moment. It's controlled by outside forces, unelected bureaucrats, among other bad actors. It's not the military our forefather joined during the early 20th century. The problems back then however minute have only gotten worse. I wish you guys luck though. Sincerely hope you boys and gals don't get sent to the front to die for Israel. It looks like that's going to be what happens.

No one does it willingly, but look at any casualty report about any battle between the US and someone else in the latter half of the 20th century.
Point is, if the DOD is actually worried we’re gonna have casualties that look like the people we were up against in those casualty reports, this isn’t just gonna be another Iraq.
