To be fair Reddit does a better job at that and I don't mean the OPs but the top-rated comments where they unpack the bullshit from the true findings and explain what happened.

I was raised pretty broke, so no braces or skin care for me. No dentist, no dermatologist, not even a fucking barber. My mom cut my hair until one day my sister took pity on me and said she'd do it from now on because my mom butchered it.
I became an adult with my class written all over my face. It won't go away. Acne scars and discoloration, crooked teeth, missing molars, etc.
I have grown used to it. I still managed to find love and have a family. And some might even say I am handsome in a certain sort of rough way. Not grizzled or hard enough to be a blue collar roughneck. Not polished and postured enough to be of the privileged class.
I have wondered what my life might have been if I could have had a smile that didn't embarrass me, or skin that didn't look like the moon surface up close.
I imagine women go through this same feeling as they age. When they realize they're destined for ugliness. Let's face it, old is ugly on women. Even if they age 'gracefully'.
I guess as I get older, I feel some comfort knowing I'm less and less alone with all my imperfections now. Anyway there's my off topic blogpost. Dunno why I even wrote all that out.
