They didn't technically fuck up. Their intent was to attack the bases on such a way that there would be no casualties to spur further action, while saving face somewhat because they technically exploded some sand that was within the boundaries of the base.

This comic is unrelated to the Iran situation. The comic is discussing occupation. Tanks and jets don't enhance occupation, but cost a lot of money to create liabilities. Iran wasn't occupied, but bombed like the faggots they are.
