This is political since most politics involves expounding beliefs/arguments through speech.
Especially these days most speech has devolved into mindless yapping and repetition of slang. Proper communication involves listening and understanding, however most people seem to be frantically trying to push words out of their mouths, for exactly what purpose I'm not sure.

There's a few reasons why people communicate aside from expressing information––one of them being for emotional connection, another to affect relationships and statuses, another to develop trust. If they're mindlessly speaking it's more for social bonding. Women love to vent to develop a bond with their girlfriends and with their men. Only an autist would view communication solely for communicating information.

I want to add to this people who use more words than necessary and especially those that "correct" you by adding trivial details because you were too succinct for them, including information that one should be able to infer but they feel the need to expound as if it makes them smarter or something.
