Cars are fun
and fooling around with man made terrestrial missiles is even more fun.
My home town still holds a car show at the fire department every summer. Usually the main parking lot and couple surrounding building lots would be filled ~100 cars.
At the end of the show drivers would pull out of the lot and (most) would succumb to the crowd egging them on to do a burnout. People would absolutely lose their shit for any car that was willing to do it. Unsurprisingly boomers were usually not willing to do any thing cool with their garage queens, but there were a few that would let it rip.
There was even one madlad that brought a chevy cavalier (restored) and tried to do a burnout anyway. The car didn't have enough power, but some people chipped in by sitting on the trunk and lifting the front end to make that little four banger burn rubber.
It was so much fun.
