I understand there are massive issues in our world right now and things seem to be getting worse politically, economically, culturally and global warming, but I need you guys to buckle up and get ready for the upcoming future. AGI is probably going to be here sometime before this decade ends. Are you prepared for the massive changes it will bring, both good and bad? The advancement in tech, rise in living standards, the economy, unemployment, AI autonomy rights, transhumanism, AI cults and religions popping up all over the place. This is the next stage of the world politically and culturally and its not 50 or 30 years away, its already happening. We are on the crux of these societal, political and cultural changes. Lets have a discussion about the future.

This whole AI chatbot waifu shit is only real to the mentally ill. And granted, there are a lot of lonely and mentally unstable men who have been left behind by society, but for those who still have cognitive endurance will not fall for this shit, and if they even try it it won't take long for them to realize it doesn't fulfil their emotional or intellectual needs. Now, I'm not saying biological women do that either, all they do is drain your fucking wallet, patience, and self-respect. But AI is just not advanced enough to fulfil those things either.
Yet. Maybe in our lifetime we can get something that comes 'close' to providing a robotic companion of any capacity.
I doubt it, personally. We'll probably be in our 80s by the time this shit starts to take off in any way.

AGI is impossible unless you're implying we are AIs ourselves, in which case sure, you can equate them.

Think of it like this: suppose you have an integer named Bob and this integer has the value of 5. You then change its value to 7. The computer does not know Bob was ever a 5, you the human does know. That is because you store that memory of Bob being a 5 before 7. The computer would need to store, potentially an infinite sized list containing the history of all the values Bob ever was.

It's a waste, isn't it? Our brains don't store that infinite list either, to be fair, but what we do do is we can create any type at any time of any amount with whatever context. AI algorithms are complex, I've seen the basic math. It's no where close to what a human brain can do.

ChatGPT and deepseek are hella good though.

And what happens when they become an essential part of you, for Job, training, school, studying, planning your vacation, entertainment, health, looks exactly how you want, talks exactly how you want, sounds totally real. What happens when your personal AI becomes so good that you will have the best conversation you will ever have with an AI, exactly how you want it or randomized. Itll become closer to you than any human, even loved ones whether you realize it or not. AI is going to become a necessity like our smart phones are today. Sure youll be able to live without them but itll make things significantly harder for you.

Not sure. The one you use more often. They store some amount of history about you to better cater to you.

I've been impressed by the creativity they show. I say cut them loose and let's see how crazy our dreams really are. It's not like scraping by for survival is very fun.
