I know people say women because their whole purpose is raising children but I hear men by nature need to pass on their genetics, legacies and knowledge to the next generation or else they will become depressed.

Biologically men just need to reproduce not take care of the kids.
Ultimately, both will suffer when they get old and have no one to look after them. I wonder what the childless suicide stats are like.

I feel like men have a stronger drive for it because it's not something they can take for granted. Any woman can get knocked up by a horny 18 yr old chad if they want to, and the lack of struggle/scarcity/etc seems like it would result in a decreased drive. For most of history men would be impregnating you regardless of whether you wanted it or not, so there wouldn't be as much of an evolutionary pressure to want it.

Generally, men commit more suicide, and there are more far simpanzees than women doing shit for men. It takes a lot of mutation to become a natural born MGTOW. The average man isn't cut out for it.

Dunno if there's any clear numbers on rates of depression/suicides or reported feelings on childlessness. But if I were to guess it probably effects women more than men. If a man at least has a hot girlfriend or gets lots of good sex from multiple attractive women he'd at least be able to cope that way. Harder for women I assume to deal the void.

Pic related is suicide in elderly people by childlessness and having children. Couldn't find anything else apart from this. I'm sure there's things like having kids but zero support in old age, or elderly not having kids but lots of support.

Proximaly it affects women more because they crave children and social connections more then man do.

But ultimately it will affect men more because it will destroy civilization which favors men more by virtue of eliminating tribal warfare and increasing their chance for reproductive success.

Where did this idea that the purpose of life is simply to procreate come from? Procreation always and forever was just a part of the natural rhythms of life. Sure, it was something you did not only because it came naturally but because you were supposed to, but at no point was childbirth your singular purpose for life.
