Pretty much this. Kids instinctively know when something is "off" so it's often quite easy to just say when things are right or wrong. It was a few years ago but I remember I was at the grocery store and there was a tranny there an my son (he was probably 5? at the time) said "why is that man wearing a dress?" I said to him "Why am I wearing shorts and why are you wearing pants? People wear different things. If he wants to be weird and wear a dress, don't get involved." It diffuses the situation and doesn't cause a scene, while also driving home that yes, trannies are wrong. Little teaching moments like that.
