Joe Rogan is telling everyone to move to Austin, saying it's a boomtown. Some people say Austin isn't even the best city in Texas, and it is actually evil. What's the deal with Austin, Texas?

It's too mediocre to even be one of the worst cities in America. It's just nothing, there's no culture or community. They had like 3-4 things and they bulldozed them to build apartments. Lamest city in America and that's some stiff competition.

Beautiful nature nearby. A lot of great neighborhoods that persist despite the cuck lib whites.

> Nashville: Disneyland for white trash, Main Street bars are overrated, a city full of blonde 7s, sometimes some 8s, absolutely never any 9s, guys are retarded dude bros and white trash, jobs suck
> Austin: absolute meme city of college students LARPing as cowboys that attracted the eyes of Californians fed up with California who wanted to LARP as cowboys and conservatives, ended up being saturated with run-of-the-mill leftists and spics to staff the companies

> New York: self explanatory, just have the money
> Boston: nice, low key racist, Asian girls, college girls (mostly nerdy though not like a big flagship town) small clique of classy Old Money girls, full of insufferable locals and transplants, very leftist but the obnoxious le educated kind, boring as hell after like 2 years
> Philadelphia: budget New York basically, cheaper but in exchange you get more niggers and white trash, PA suburbs are really good if you can afford them
> Miami: self explanatory, be young hot and rich or even just rich and you’ll have fun at least
> Los Angeles: quickly becoming unredeemable shit but for now makes the list because of hot girls, good weather, access to outdoors, generally accessible fast and fun lifestyle, have enough money to avoid dog shit areas and a nice car before you move
> San Francisco: Asian girls, money to be made, outdoors nearby, that’s it everything else about it is ass
> Seattle: Asian girls, Alt girls, outdoors
> Portland: Seattle-lite
> Cincinatti: I don’t even know why I included this. It has some nice neighborhoods I guess.
> Salt Lake City: mountain access, park access, public land access, extreme sports, people are a terrible mix of Mormons, Roganites, and Punk leftist fags, no normal people in SLC for some reason
> Denver: outdoors access although it’s enormously overstated, kinda the gateway to the West so a good home base for exploring the Western states, less fat people, otherwise fuckin terrible and I mean terrible

I lived in Boise during the covid years and it has sucked ass more every year since 2020. It’s the place on the west coast where people go to “reinvent themselves”. Lots of YouTubers and rich Californians who want to larp as outdoorsmen. The downtown is full of liberal faggots with rainbow flags and Ukraine flags and there are off leash pitbulls everywhere now. Oh and every other month there’s a wHiTe SuPrEmAcIsT scare by the local newspaper.

Pittsburgh is both good and bad. It’s hard to really describe. It’s actually bad for the same reasons it’s good in some ways too. But in short, it’s the cheapest most down to earth city with a ton of flyover white people while still having the amenities you’d want out of a big city like colleges a good walkable downtown with big buildings bars penthouse apartments and lofts and all shit like that which cities like Austin just don’t even have at all. Pennsylvania as a state is also the only big state with a lot of people and jobs that isn’t pozzed and is kinda normal (unlike Florida and Texas).

I think people move to Boise because YouTube content creators convince them it’s an up and coming city, the new Denver or something. It’s like the single most unremarkable city in the West in reality. There’s nothing really horrible about it but nothing particularly good either. And now since every city has gotten worse since 2020 it’s not even worth it.

Yeah some of the Rust Belt cities have redeeming qualities because they’re a mix of like old buildings and since they all have white neighborhoods they can be pretty good but there’s also nothing really spectacular about them. Pittsburgh is the best one among them. Indianapolis is the whitest and surprisingly nice but also absurdly boring.

Yeah I think too there’s an element of Idaho being a place where you can do whatever you want, without any laws or something. It’s not true, but that’s how people act when they get here. But yes a lot of the younger people seem like they were told that Boise is the new Austin/Nashville and it’s really not. It’s more like Portland but without anything to do.

Pittsburgh sucks ass to visit. There’s nothing remarkable there. It’s only when you live there and settle in you realize it’s quite nice. The best way to describe it is it’s like the exact median city. It’s not exactly too big nor too small, not too exciting nor too boring, not exactly too middle class nor too trashy. It’s just exactly in the middle. It’s a little bit of everything at once but just a little bit.

a bunch of studios have already moved over there, including HBO and netflix studios, and a bunch of bigshit actors like matthew mcconaughey, dennis quaid, woody harrelson, billy bob thorton are all pushing for it

Austin is essentially Chicago-lite in a state that's predominantly republican. There's nothing to do there during the day because of how hot it is and the nightlife is on par with every other mildly big city.

Its like Asheville North Carolina. A liberal hive in the middle of a decent area.

yes I would. Certainly would know more about Pennsylvania than you would about Texas. I will concede that Pittsburgh may be an ok place to live, I haven't lived there. But my entire mid atlantic life I dealt with people who were from there and they were without exception assholes and had the attitude I said. Maybe Pittsburgh is exporting those people, if so, good for them that's a smart move. Philly much the same way although more of my experience with it is first hand. It's shitty in the same way Baltimore and Camden and bunch of other bombed out mid atlantic slums are

Traveling around the rest of the US, Texas cities are rather the more safe and sane of the lot.
Austin is alright, but carpetbaggers from California really ran it down. Most newcomers are based refugees from Newsom's regime, but some of these nu-Texans interpreted "Keep Austin Weird" as a greenlight for their open faggotry.
I was surprised how well Dallas and Arlington were despite the number of Blacks
>Thought I was going to get mugged at a Little Caesar's.
>Turns out this niggas were homeboys trying to get through the day too.
Mountain Texas made me paranoid, but Plains and Central are strangely relaxing. Only time I ever got mad were toward the Indian foreigners in Six Flags.
I'll take boring-but-safe over fun any day.

Honestly, I've been "on the search" for a smaller community... likely going to head to a 420legal state next (so nowhere 'round here).
But I would recommend Austin and Chattanooga, both, as wonderful communities TO THE RIGHT PERSON.

I'd like to live in Pittsburgh or Boston. Pittsburgh because I visited once, on the marathon day, and was impressed by the beauty and how cheap it was. Filled a shopping cart for 50 dollars. Granted, pre-pandemic.
Boston is also very beautiful, but again I've only been as a tourist, and stuck near the coastal downtown for the most part. It's noticably expensive too. I get the impression that either city would bore me eventually since the only nightlife I enjoy is metal shows. Maybe Boston would be better. Otherwise I just like outdoors shit, which you don't need to live in a city for.

I have no interest in Nashville. My only complaint is how expensive it’s become because of tech bros moving in. I don’t frequent clubs they go to though so it’s rare that I have to interact with those kinds of people but when I have they’re pretty insufferable. Literally everything cool about austin has either been commoditized by big business or bulldozed for condo/hotels. The town lake is a sewer. Businesses have sucked the water table dry and will soon be sucking the neighboring counties dry. The humidity and mosquitos make it unlivable unless you are rich enough to afford services to poison them without you noticing.

I used to date one of the talent managers at ACL... she would sneak me in to all sorts of shows, I'd be backstage and famous musicians would just casually walk by (mostly I didn't recognize them — never bothered them). I struck up a conversation with this sweet, heavyset woman, who ended up being the lead singer of that night's band (my GF sheepishly came up to frontwoman and asked "he's not bothering you is he?!?").

I think my penultimate Austin memory was, shortly after ACL moved over to 2nd St, smoking joints on Willie's porch (not with Willie, but on the porch named after him) with parts of his roadcrew, after a NYE show (which I didn't even watch, just sat smoking on the porch, rolling endless joints for roadies).

I lived there for 2 decades and I just moved because I couldn't fucking stand it any more. It's nothing like it was when I moved there. It used to be fun and had all kinds of cool quirky shops and great places to eat. It WAS like Portland in Texas. Not any more.

Now it's an overpopulated, expensive, filled with shit-libs who will vandalize your shit if you're not one of them. Your car will be stolen or at least trashed, if not by one of them then by a thug because car breakins and theft are a popular past time. It's very very very diverse. You will seldom hear English. The cops won't help you so start a defense pact with your neighbors. On the bright side, taking justice in your own hands won't get you in trouble probably.

Housing is outrageous because property taxes are some of the highest in the nation. Your tax payments may be the same or higher than your mortgage. This means you will likely have to live in Round Rock or Pflugerville or Cedar Park and then commute in. BUT...

the traffic is intolerably bad. Even if you live just outside of town it will take longer than an hour to get anywhere. Two hours if you're going downtown. And it's not that far, you will just be sitting there in traffic not moving the whole time. I lived in LA for years and thought traffic was bad. It's not compared to this. Work from home if you can (but why live in Austin if you do???)

Weed was semi-legal before but they are working on making it all illegal again. If you used to live in Austin and haven't experienced it within the last five years, it's NOT at all what you remember. Shit got bad fast post summer of love, Floydapaloosa and Covid. As someone else said, all the good shit went out of business and got bulldozed to make jeet-box apartments.

I'm the 2nd-gen Austinite that left to Chattanooga — our primary industries are making Volkswagons and Transportation Brokerages.

If you try to do a show anywhere else now, cops show up and shut it down for noise complaints. Theres like 3 actual venues ledt but they only have big label bands play, no more local music scene. Now it is becoming a place of concrete with glass buildings, with a lot of tourists who want to get drunk.

Houston was strange in terms of layout but later when I was an adult I discovered why: It's one of the few cities on Earth with no zoning laws, which explains why there's just random skyscrapers.

Texan culture aligns very closely with Albertan culture too, except of course Texas having full access to firearms makes it a bit more based.

Not really anymore. The best part of the music scene was the Red River district, punk metal industrial, generally heavier music. They built a few hotels and apartment blocks on that street and then lobbied the city to end music at 11 and midnight on the weekends. Other bars that had apartments built on top of them in other parts of town received the same treatment. Fucking ridiculous.

They roll into the office around 915-945 with a huge yeti with coffee still looking like they're asleep. Amazing they didn't get into an accident on the way here. No need to clock in, just show up before your first meeting, whenever that is, if you even have one. "Get settled in" and open inbox before most people go to 10am meeting. Talk for 1 hour or more. Return to desk, reply to a few emails. Oh! Heavens! Look at the time, I'm hungry. Take 1-2 hour lunch depending on the day. Do real work for 1-2 hours. Go home between 330-430. I estimate the faggots I work with are doing between 5-15 hours of "real" work per week.

20-30 years ago it was pretty cool and had 3-4 hundred thousand less people.

It got a good reputation and that is a magnet for scum of the earth r-strategists. So that extra several hundred thousand cockroaches are mostly theives and violent criminals.

There are rumors of a serial killer being around because of a series of murders recently.

When I went to visit a friend who lives there, we stopped by the HEB and the first thing I saw walking in was a dude stealing food by walking out the entrance. It was 4 or 5 items he could carry in his hands. That loss causes everyone else's costs to go up to cover for it. No one cared or did anything about the theft.

As of now, I suspect its mostly a shithole or will soon devolve into absolute chaos.

Austin is the asshole of Texas. Has been since they stole the capital from Houston. The only people who live there now are the uber rich and the homeless. It's the most expensive city to live in with the lowest quality of life in the state. If you want a nicer place but still be near Austin, try Bryan/College Station, Temple/Killeen/Belton, or Marble Falls.

>perfection
Greatness is a achieved through perfection. Beauty, an objective quality we can see in the world, people, and things is something to surround yourself with. Ugliness is literally Satanic in nature, and you are retarded in nature because you don't "get" this. You know which cultures embrace ugliness and imperfection? Second world shitholes niggers like you should move to.

>I'm whiter than you
I'll say it once more time since you're disabled: I am uncircumcised. You are not, nigger.

There's not much good here. It's just California but worse

CHECKED
I never watched Alex's show until after 2001. DFW didn't carry it. Looking back now I feel like I missed out. I would have loved to watch him coming up. I bet that show made Stern look like children's programming.

>>508615232
He's completely right, all mostly white cities/states are SUPER liberal. Browns just vote for their best interests and leftist policies/values tend to benefit them. Whites in a group tend to vote against their best interest. Once they're comfy, they seem to want to virtue signal more than anything because they have no struggle.
