>>508621594 (OP)Agreed. I've never met a Gen Xer that actually had any kind of personality, everything about them comes from round 1 of edgelord media they consumed. They still act like they are in their 20s no matter how old they get. All of their ideas about life and the world are all so obviously formed in their teens it's like trying to talk to the most egotistical 15 year old any time you try to have a discussion with one. They spent zero time on critical thinking skills, all are alcoholics, and almost all of them embody the idea of disenfranchised youth even now that they are completely checked out of culture and politics.
They unironically wear jean vests with patches and almost always carry pocket knives and make sure you can see them like it's some sort of status symbol. Their musical taste is almost as bad as the hair metal younger boomers. It's hilarious. All they ever talk about are beer gardens and concerts they go to, and not even concerts by actual artists they know and like, just random shit. They only go because they are so worried about having no identity that as long as they consume more IPAs and go to more concerts than the next Xer they feel good about themselves.
They are obsessed with trying to convince people (completely unprompted) that their cocaine was so much better back in the day and that's why they don't do it now. They really wany you to know it's not the fact that they are old and washed up and have to worry about heart attacks that made them quit.
Any time you encounter a group of them it's literally just pick me behavior. "I wasn't popular but I was way more cool than the other kids, I made sure I checked all the cool alt kid boxes and got in so many fights" "I checked even more alt kid boxes and was even LESS popular and even got an assault charge once"
It's all so manufactured lmao.
