I think initially Israel expected it to be a useful distraction from Gaza. Set off Iran, play some victim, try to refill some of that holocaust credit. But they weren't ready for the Iron dome to be less effective than they thought, and they weren't prepared for how abjectly their brainwashing has been on all generations that came after boomers and how ready people were to openly talk about hating kikes. I think if anything they've made it worse than before by providing further opportunity for the normalisation of antisemitism in the zeitgeist. They pushed the Overton window the wrong way.

Israel was high on the recent success in Syria and thought they could topple Iran with a decapitation strike of IRGC leadership, followed by American cleanup. They didn’t count on:
1. Iran’s missiles turning Tel Aviv into rubble

3. A massive global surge in antisemitism
4. A huge fracture in Trump’s base
5. China, North Korea, Russia and China offering nuclear warheads to Iran
