I need a movie recommendation, what's your favorite comedy movie?

This film is truly great and I highly recommend it. What I love best about it is how it demonstrates the business aspect of what you all did in 1930s Germany. How it wasn't really about some visceral hatred for jews, or a belief that they were secretly running the country, but instead that it was a matter of capitalists trying to enslave a population of people and attain free labor from them. And thats the soul of nazism.

Its "meh". Pretty shitty 80s cop flick in a lot of ways. In the 80s everything was cops cops cops cops cops. Cops were in every movie. Cops were the good guy. The only thing semi-cool about this movie is that it has some sense that your main character isn't really the good guy and so he gets his head blown off even before the film's climax. In that sense its good but its otherwise by the numbers.

For the purposes of discussion on this board, The Keep. It's a wonderful film also about nazi germany. In this film, a bunch of nazis take over a castle in the carpathian mountains but inside of the castle is a centuries old jewish demon, which comes out and starts murdering the nazis in the name of jewish fascism. And one of the characters is a jew who becomes supportive of the jewish fascist demon. The whole thing is a powerful allegory of how fascism operates as a cycle of hatred which breeds more fascism and how the only way to destroy such evil is to let go of your hatred

It started the whole "spaceship with human crew visits planet and adventure ensues" thing. Without Forbidden Planet there'd be no Star Trek.

Still the greatest sword & sorcery fantasy movie ever made. Excalibur is also good, but Conan is unparalleled.

The 1965 movie 'Ship of Fools', while not solely dwelling on the discussion, does make some interesting commentary on it.

Schindler's list is a great work of historical fiction. I often watch it and cry a lot while doing so. Think about all of the Jews that could've died if this actually happened. Why is God so cruel? It really should've happened, but alas, it did not.
