As part of the Gulf of America name change, we could see Florida start to include Puerto Rico as a territory of Florida. There are already some islands connected to Florida, and Puerto Rico is claimed by some to be on track to U.S. statehood. Instead of being a U.S. state, we could see it become part of Florida
>What would this mean for America?
The USA would become all of America, not just north/south. At last, the "United Statesians" would finally be Americans. After all, the name America came from an explorer named Amerigo who landed in Central America near where Florida is. Sure, Amerigo (and Columbus) were focused on South America, but it's the land near Florida which defines the name of America. So, at this point, it's very clear that America is the country where Florida includes the land all the way to Puerto Rico.
>What about the Americas?
In the Americas, "America" was the first country and it stands to reason that once Florida includes all that land it then becomes all of America. Could the continents, North America and South America, keep their names? Perhaps, but the name really comes from the land near Florida and once it's actually part of Florida the USA becomes all of America. Maybe it'd be interesting to think about new names for the continents North America and South America! In the meantime, stay updated to the changes caused by the Gulf of America being recognized
