Don't need anything special to browse 4chan. I have a 4 year old samsung S21 I bought in full when it came out. Worst part about it is that battery is at about 30% when I get home from work. Occasionally I have to drive to an offsite location about 50 miles away I use it for GPS on. The battery usually dies if I do not charge it at some point during the day on days like that. But that is normal for lithium batteries to slowly decrease in charge time over their life.
I'm debating between getting some S24 model for ~$550 or just paying some phone repair shop $60 for them to put a replacement battery in and keep my S21 going for a few more years. Phone is just a 4chan, youtube revanced, email, text, picture and google search machine for me. Specs far outpaced my needs years ago and in hindsight buying a S21 the year it came out was a bad decision since a S19 or S20 would have done just as well for me.

4 years is still really new for a phone. go on ifixit and get a full noob battery replacement kit and do it yourself if you dont have tools like spudgers.

and use shit like gsam monitor to find out what apps are draining your battery in the background (twitter is a big one) and use superfreeze to auto-kill them when not in use.

entire process will cost you a few bucks for the battery kit, then like 10 minutes figuring out how to use those two apps.

I work in IT and I know my own limits. Laptop keyboards are tedious enough so I just throw them at the helpdesk to fiddle with or do it myself if its someone important in the company. Don't think saving $20 by doing it myself would be worth the frustration when I could just drop it off at some reputable store on a lunch break and be done with it.
After thinking about it I'll probably just back up important data and do that next week if they have the part on hand.
