More developing countries (especially in Africa) would benefit from establishing special economic zones for foreign investment especially in the agricultural sector. Too many small family run plots that aren't competetive. If instead they encouraged farmers to form collective estates and then either rented the land out or now got the equipment/expertise it would dramatically increase yields and preserve soil quality for farming. Chocolate got wrecked a couple years back because they weren't able to purchase quality fertilizer and other nutrients that led to a weak chocolate harvest that did not benefit the farmers because they didn't have negiotation powers being too small.
