Any truly proficient engineer worth their salt is able to be thrown at a problem / field they’ve never seen before, read the background material, play around with example problems, and quickly become familiar with said field and master the new concepts. The true value of education is not just the learning aspect, it’s also the meta-learning aspect. I other words, you should learn your field and get good at it, but you should also learn how learn and improve your information acquisition skills as well

For designing circuit boards, usually yes. Autorouting solvers struggle with really complex circuit boards tho. It takes a human engineer to do it by hand beyond a certain point of complexity. I mostly work in theory and innovation thoughbeit. There’s no chink fab that can do that (I’ve seen what happens when they try to innovate new technology)

Worst part is that no one uses to do that before I got there then I kept making small talk to get to know everyone and im one of the only guys not totally autistic and relativly normal so everyone wants to talk to me maybe beacuse it makes them feel more normal. All we have to do is let them fail. I personally am planning on getting deeper into antenna theory beaxuwe I want to open a firm that specializes in fractal antennas. Most people in the RF field think they are snake oil yet they aren't and we have only scratched the surface of how to make them. I plan on utilizing AI once it gets powerful enough. Maybe somehow get it to run simulations and optimizations in HFSS on a home built server farm until it stumbles onto a design that works. I will probably fail and just make my fortune on laundromat or some shit though..

There is nothing wrong with working from home. You can neatly categorize complaints about it as:
people who are jealous, and who can't work from home
managers who aren't very good at managing, particularly those managers who had to wfh during covid unexpectedly
people with a lot of commercial real estate
workaholics for whom being at the office and being the eighty hours guy is their whole self image and self esteem

I've never seen it fall out of that pattern. On the rare occasion they even attempt to make a point about it, they do the thing where they compare a fantasy version of the office to the reality of working from home, so they'll bring up that one time somebody was distracted at home as though nobody has ever been distracted at an office, spent hours planning lunch, talking about Game of Thrones or Trump or gossip or whatever, looking busy, playing solitaire, reading reddit, etc. It's all really kike coded and crabs-in-a-bucket shit.
