Honestly, I was fucked 20 years ago.
>49
>current-year bongland prisoner
>no qualifications (English degree)
>industry I used to work in full-time is close to dead (magazine publishing)
>lost the decent part-time gig I had a few months ago (the mag folded)
What do? I'm thinking of applying to be a trainee estate agent, as it doesn't sound too bad, plus they don't require anything qualification-wise. I know I'd be competing with a bunch of late teens/recent graduates, though. Suspect if I "learned to code" I'd be up against infinity pajeets, if my age didn't disqualify me there too. (Plus I've no idea *what* to learn.) My only asset (for now): about £70,000 worth of AAPL, which clearly I should have sold last year, even though I'd have taken a massive hit on CGT (which I'll now have to take anyway when I start selling it just to eat). Everything I was looking to buy last year is now too high.
An hero?

You can work as a laborer in any sort of manufacturing or logistics industry. The worst one would be construction, as its mostly picking up heavy objects in the heat. In a factory setting at least theres shadow and sometimes air conditioning (not in europe).
Besides that, theres unlimited do-nothing office jobs everywhere, i never know what these people do. Some have legit jobs like accounting, thats like 1% of people in offices

If you want something with less training (understandable) maybe look into IT certs. You just watch online courses on Youtube in preparation for a paid online test which gets you a cert if you score high enough. You could also learn to code, Harvard has an online introductory program that assumes you know absolutely nothing. There are videos of people teaching themselves to code and getting decent gigs, see YT channels like Dorian Develops. Some of this shit could be a total meme but it may be worth looking in to

This is probably his best bet at this point. Things are going to get a lot worse here in Bongland in the next 9 months to a year. Maybe take some bullshit TEFL thing to allow him to teach, then escape this hell hole before it is too late.

As for being an estate agent, let me tell you a secret. UK GDP figures run month to month, and they show that _already_ there is a housing market crash in-progress. You will not see these in the house price figures yet... it takes 6 months for them to work through the system, but they are already in the monthly GDP numbers. So this is how i know things are going to get much worse.

Government knows it too, but it is politically unwise for them to say.

m8, the UK does not and cannot build anything. We celebrate when 1 medium sized new building manages to get constructed somehow. A new rail line takes 20+ years. A new runway 25+ years. A simple tunnel a similar amount. So there is no building work. Meanwhile the government plays fantasy targets with "building 3M new houses this year" (so far zero have been built or will ever be built.

As for industry, our electricity prices are 7x Russias, 5x Chinas, and 3x USAs, so there will be no new industry.

Work, as structured by modern society, is a trap. Your labor is taxed, your savings are eroded by inflation engineered through central banking, and even attempts to escape through investment are undermined by capital gains taxes. The system is designed to keep you struggling, playing a game rigged from the start. Many seek solutions within this same system, but that only leads back to deeper control. The truth is, you can’t win a game built to exploit you. Modern life—fiat currency, corporate markets, mass media, and even democratic processes—functions more like a psychological prison than a path to freedom. Real liberation begins when you stop playing by their rules, reject the illusion of status and wealth, and recognize the system for what it is: a mechanism to extract your life energy for the benefit of those who rule it.

I've never worked a single day in my life.

70K pounds today is not much in Bongland. He is 49 years old.

When he was 24, in the year 2000, if he had £25,000 then that is about the same as £70,000 in 2025. It doesn't buy you that much although it sounds like a lot. And inflation is going to remain high now for decades.

It's like less than 1 years wages back then.

Good luck to you whatever you do, but if you are going to "break out" then it makes sense to do it sooner rather than later. No matter what you see announced by the government here (any government) so long as they basically seek to keep things as they are with regard to the system... there will not be a change in fortunes for anyone. They are tinkering with minor nobs and expecting big changes, it wont happen.

Dude, neither of the aircraft carriers work properly. The propellors dont go around.

https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/hms-prince-of-wales-shaft-failure-investigation-results/

The type 45 destroyers dont work in warm water.

https://www.navaltoday.com/2016/06/08/royal-navys-type-45-destroyers-cannot-handle-warm-waters/

As for submarines, the astute "class" are just 5 different boats, all custom built. They work differently so cant share crews. There are long periods where none of them work:

Start gambling on shitcoins and copy trading insiders on the stock market to make money

https://x.com/unusual_whales/status/1923725439719117079
You can buy and use unusual whales to copy trade stock market insiders who make millions of dollars off of options trading

Or you could buy access to a discord that'll post trades from unusual whales so you can have someone else do the work of finding insider trades for you to get in early on
This guy catches insider trades using unusual whales and posts them in his paid discord, its like $20/month
https://x.com/AnthonySandford/status/1929534258487374296
This dude does as well but he's jewish
https://x.com/thisisorlando

I'd recommend using axiom.trade for trading shitcoins

Below are some telegram call channels where an AI will post coins it thinks will perform well, you can make at least 40% profit on over half of them I'd say. Quite a few have been posted that end up doing over a 10x, I've seen a 100x recently as well

t . me/solearlytrending
t . me/pfultimate
t . me/ai_agent_solana_0xbot
(Remove spaces)

This is a telegram group where people post coins. Quite a bit of decent things get posted in here, there's been a few ones posted recently that ended up doing at least a 10x
t . me/SKULLSCOMMUNITYGEM100x
(Remove spaces)

Here's 2 more telegram call channels that are ran by actual people instead of an AI, they've posted quite a few coins that ended up doing well
t . me/DegenSeals
t . me/veigarcalls
(Remove spaces)

This telegram channel posts notifications when call channels make calls that do at least a 2x, it's where I found the above 2 channels. You can find a bunch of new callers to follow in here
t . me/walloftrophies
(Remove spaces)

I'd recommend trading with a 1 second candle chart, and using indicators such as bollinger bands, MACD, and stoch RSI. There's plenty of vids on YouTube where you can see how to trade using them. Spend time learning what scam coins look like before buying anything.

Come work for Boeing here in the US. Washington State, westcoast. They just started hiring again for the most basic of mechanic/electrician jobs (job code 30104 (elec) 30304 (mech), which you don't need shit for qualifications for. Tailor your resume to include personal experience with working on your car, running cat-6 around your house, building/repairing computers, etc, and there's a decent chance you get an interview.

You'll start at about 25/hr, which is shit for seattle area. 50c raise every 6 months. But it's a 6-year max out time, and at 6 years, and including the remaining 3 years on the most recent contract, you get a GUARANTEED 140k/year BEFORE overtime. Work 1 weekend per month of overtime /(1.5x sat, 2x sunday), you'll be making about 170k or more a year. Amazing health insurance. Huge 401k match. And there is generally a new contract every 4 years, so that 140ish/year is not even considering what the next contracts will increase. This is also based off the starting job at a Grade 4, it's easy AF to get higher grade/paying jobs.

People meme about Boeing being shit and failing, but it never will. There's Boeing and Airbus, and Boeing is too big to fail for the US. The WA State factory, and overall puget sound union, is 30k+ people. Easy as fuck to get a job. Easy as fuck to climb once you're in. They just started hiring again for the base jobs, and will MASSIVELY hire in the next 6 months or so as the 737-Max line spins up in the main factory. They often will pay for your relocation if you're moving from afar. You will train for like 3 months in a dedicated classroom/lab setting before you even work a line/plane.

If ANY of you boys are feeling lost, consider Boeing. 24 year old dudes working 40/week with no college degree making over 120k easy. 60 year old dudes who just started a year or two ago who will be making 180k/year with a bit of overtime by the time they're 65 who were lost AF and no prospects.

70k would buy a flat that's not a complete hovel outside of big cities.
Assuming living costs are what you're worried about covering, I'd be inclined to liquidate the aapl, buy and live in a flat and get a part time job doing something undemanding to pay the bills. Full time jobs are hard to find here but part time stuff is plentiful at least in Scotland. All assuming your aim is max comfy minimum effort that is, if you want career progression you're going to have to get lucky or suck someone's cock.
I paid 85k last year for a decent ex council flat. Ugly on the outside but nice on the inside. I could probably live on £500 a month if I weren't into cars and drugs

Engineering and procurement fuckups aside (and you could write many books on that, UK MOD is useless). We also have no sailors.

For the aircraft carriers I have colleagues in the private sector, who retired from the Navy years ago, who are getting large offers to come back out of retirement to run the systems aboard the carriers and destroyers. They are needed for their technical and engineering know-how and because no new sailor has any experience at all on long deployments at sea.

There is nobody to staff these ships even if we built the ships we need.

Funnily enough Mohammed and Ngubu and the women arent signing up.

You don't need any, is part of my point. There are grade 3 jobs (literally $1/hour less than the jobs I was referring to) where you literally sit in a toolroom and just hand out tools and re-check-back-in tools that mechanics need. Even the jobs I mentioned you don't really NEED any actual experience. You'll spend 2-3 months in classroom training every single tool and work you'll be performing. And then you'll spend another 3 months on OTJ (on the job training) shadowing somebody who does your exact job, barely doing any actual work yourself. All fully paid. Unless somebody is a complete fucking retard, you will learn your job completely from scratch, and ALL the tools that you'll ever use on the job, before you even start actual work. People sleep on this job/company because they don't realize that just about anybody is qualified for the basic jobs unless they're complete fucking morons.

AND on top of that, once you work there for a while, you'll ACTUALLY be knowledgeable in tools and have the basic skillset for a mechanic. All paid for.

Just trust me when I say you don't need ANY qualifications other than not being a retard for a grade 3/4 job, which is the most plentiful and the most often hired for. I'll answer any questions from anybody that wants to know more

See you sort of answer the question. You thought I asked for excuses, or externals, but no. I asked for your internal state of mind as you were going through with this, year by year.

I realize it's wrong because that's precisely the point, you don't think, you're just a low agency individual who goes along with whatever the fuck choices you made decades ago, hoping for the best and never doing anything that would actually be a course correction.

You even post in an anonymous board looking for advice. You are doomed, you should be out there slaying it but instead you are worse than a lemming. I'd recommend you end yourself but you can't even buy a gun in bongistan, so good luck with that.
Your suicide note will claim it was the inescapable circumstances but we all know better

Funnily enough I anticipated a lot of insults alongside posts from anons genuinely trying to help. Anyway, you're right and wrong. I have been low-agency, and tended to blame external factors and old decisions way too much. But I can and will course-correct.

I'll go ahead with the estate-agent thing, but also look into HGV training. Can quickly switch to that if the housing market is indeed fucked - or it isn't yet, but they won't touch some oldfag. (I've also been pursuing a couple of part-time things, but those alone aren't going to cut it.)

Don’t learn to code, the market is hard enough for actual young uni CS grads, you’d have no shot right now. The times when you could do some js boot camp and get job offers are over, and besides that it’s just genuinely not a good fit for most people. If it was a good fit for you, you would already be doing it.

I’d try think about how your skills can be applied elsewhere, like, why couldn’t you work for the marketing or social media team of some company, It’s basically the same thing but digital. Do you have management experience? You can apply that to a different industry. There’s some software adjacent things that might be interesting to you too, try looking at release manager jobs or technical writing

I'm not skeptical about learning to code. It's a very hard field and everything changes there too quickly, you have to learn on your spare time or you get behind. And yes, the pajeets are infinite, but if not for them, it's AI.

You don't seem like a tech guy anyway, because why would you pursue english major if you were.

I suggest you keep relying on your strong sides, no matter if it pays ok or not. That seems "communication" related jobs.

Def not hero. But if you decide to, make it matter, instead of just offing yourself with no impact on society.

I did a bootcamp called Capslock that you get a bunch of certifications/qualifications out of, and they're pretty well connected in the industry too, I know they have a partnership with BT now which they didn't when I was doing it.

Can do part time or full time variants with a bunch of options for paying, including deferred income share agreement which is what I did. It's not easy, but it worked for me.

You dont even need to be super technical and good with computers, my current role is more legal/compliance and I was specifically hired because I had work experience outside of cybersecurity.

Worth exploring for sure, it's definitely a huge gamble but one that paid off for me at least.

it's not necessarily about the money, although you'll be making enough, but think about it like a platform to grow yourself while growing
h y p o t h e t i c a l l y
takes 3 months or so from seed to flower, as you learn more about it you get better yields
aiming for 1 kg per 4-8 plants is adecent starting point
pass that off to some locals (you find these easy enough) for 2,5/3k per kg
all your workload per 3 months is 10-20 hours a week in gardening and plant maintenance, then 1-2 hours socialising and finding some contacts
assuming you'd get 3k / 3 months as a noob farmer, top it off with universal credit which is 350+rent, if you have health conditions look into applying for pip (long process since globohomo kiked the assessments, you'll have to tank applying, getting denied, and appealing to tribunal)
>register as self employed and get an accountant, have no income when starting, when you get to 2-3k a month start registering an income with said accountant (have something like 6-700 a month coming in for minimal tax, first 12k is untaxable, as you get more income go higher)
screencap as guide mby and glhf ;)

forgot to add -
join online growing communities to learn about it and find guides, there's also pdf's and books galore, even facebook grow groups, all social media has em, you can even ask questions off burner accounts to troubleshoot your grows

since workload is low and you'd be looking at 2-3k a month in 6 months to a year, use some of your time to grind some extra courses and qualifications, and in 1-2 years you could be adding an extra income off a part time gig there
maybe look into degree apprenticeships, construction related office stuff, whatever floats your boat, pick something you've had a passive interest in over the years for best results

dont do that you just damage yourself in a double way, first you use up your money and second you dont get the money you are entitled to, basically you cut yourself financially two times for no reason. Again you are entitled to social services and money (for which you have already paid in via taxes, its your money they are giving you back).

Also excavator operators make good money and always have work. The training/certifications are only a few weeks. After that your pay is based on experience and what projects you've worked on.

Plus it's not physically demanding like other construction jobs or constantly changing like tech jobs so your age probably won't work against you.

I worked on an oil pipeline for a couple years. Talked to the excavator operators - they told me they were making $70/hr plus per diems for working away from home.

After the skirmish is over he's going to go tough on them again and these "cybersecurity" schmucks will be laid off.

Not to mention that AI is currently replacing them right now.
