it only matters if you live in a dry region and rely on limit water sources like a non-renewing aquifer or a reservoir that relies on seasonal rains etc. Or if your normally rainy area gets a year or two of low rains and drout etc. i could run my shower all day and never run out because we live in a generally damp climate and have a deep well.
