No fences is weird to me as a Californian.
kids can just run right up on your side of the property line and start doing destructive stuff to your home.

everyone has to have their own bit of privacy after dealing with work and traffic all week. how the fuck are you supposed to get privacy with an open lot plan like this?
its one thing to invite neighbors over or offer to watch the kids for a moment while the parent steps out but this would trigger me daily
