One disturbing thing no one seems to talk about, is that since the days of The Beatles and Elvis and probably long before, pop music has been about promoting sex symbols to retarded teenage and preteen girls. In the early days it happened at least somewhat organically, they would latch on to the talented performers who happened to be young men. Gradually it became more manufactured, until you got boybands who were completely talentless, simply products created by record labels to appeal to that demographic. Young girls are very impressionable, and whoever is put on their screens and held up as icons and sex symbols, they will go along with it. Depending on the generation it could be dweeby scousers with bowl cuts, men with teased hair and makeup, feminized Korean twinks, etc. They are so impressionable that their tastes do not decide what they see, but rather what they see decides their tastes.

Now the boybands have gone, what has replaced them? Niggers niggers everywhere. It is only niggers promoted by record companies. Most of them are also completely talentless, so much so that Kanye is heralded as a genius, and relatively speaking it's actually true.

So these musical artists are promoted not for their musical ability, but to appeal sexually to young girls, and they are ALL niggers. I'm not reading anything into this or telling anyone to look at early life sections of record executives, but it's an interesting point to notice.

dunno about "cool", but I remember noticing that subcultures died out around 2012, when smartphones became widespread. When I started high school in 2007 there were still goths, emos, metalheads, the cool party chicks, jocks etc. in the older grades. Then in 2012 when by that point that generation had graduated everything became homogeneous and internet-based. Dυbstep was the last thing approaching a cultural movement that I remember.

I had a great revelation upon seeing a girl in small town NZ dressed in typical teen pseudo-goth attire, with badges and patches all over her jacket and bag as they like to do. It is weird that music was such an important thing in determining subculture for like 80 years, then suddenly it wasn't anymore. Not sure what to read in to that. In some way I think we got over saturated with music, like in the 90s and early 2000s it was still an investment to be a fan of a certain type of music. You had to pay actual money to get the music on CD, then people would invest their time to only listen to music, rather than it being on in the background of other activities. With friends you would get together and play a new album you'd bought, even go to shows and build social circles around the music.

Now there is constantly music in the background of every stupid tiktok and whatever, and all the music of the world is available immediately for free. It changes the dynamic somewhat when no investment of any kind is required.
