Shalom. I've seen this a few times glimpsing at other people's phone screens. It's a white background with black lines mapping out the building you are in. It's not a detailed map but it shows where the walls are and such. But on the map there are small boxes with people's names on it and sometimes a picture of them at the positions they are at in the room. What is this and what are they using this for?

It's using the lasers mounted alongside the device's camera to do 3D mapping and facial recognition

>Some phones, particularly iPhones, utilize lasers for various functions. These include facial recognition (TrueDepth camera), LiDAR scanning for depth perception and 3D imaging, and even as a low-power laser pointer. Lasers are also used in the autofocus system of many smartphone cameras.

Why would it have their names on it and include people out of the line of sight?
