If the ceasefire holds it will be studied masterclass in the utilization of empathy in warfare for centuries to come. Trump understood and put himself in the shoes of Masoud Pezeshkian the president of Iran, and Ali Khamenei the supreme leader of Iran. He knew that just like Gorbachev in the cold war they needed an "out" something that he could spin as a "victory" and hold parades around the country, because ultimately Iran doesn't want war they want to be in a constant state of "near war"

Iran is a "threshold nuclear power" meaning that they enjoy staying right at the edge of nuclear weapons by maintaining an enrichment program of only 60 - 70% which is high enough to quickly get to that 90% mark which everyone knows as nuclear weapons but low enough to not be a true threat and thus they can dance around using this as leverage to get what they want, they also use their strategic location near the Strait of Hormuz as a "threat" to get what they want, but ultimately they don't want war because that would end the "game".

Trump understood this and gave them exactly what they wanted. Trump said "You got 12 hours to show the world what you got" and they did just that, multiple successful strikes on Israel, and then even sent off one more missile after the deadline as a show of force. This is called Empathy and Donald Trump as a populist is a master of it.

Even the response to Israels reaction to the final missile which was to sortie some of their war planes, Trump picked up a phone and DEMANDED that they stand the fuck down or there will be major consequences for breaking the ceasefire... Because this is what Netanyahu needed at that moment, he needed the stick because he had overextended himself.

This is why the very next morning Netanyahu publicly announced that Israel would adhere to the Ceasefire. Trump is a brilliant politician and an even more brilliant tactician.

he gave Israel what they wanted, he bombed Irans nuclear program

No, he gave Israel what they needed and he gave Iran what they wanted - that's called Empathy.

Gave Bibi his "strike on Iranian nuclear facilities" but then bitch slapped him when he went for the jugular. He gave Masoud Pezeshkian what he needed by allowing him 12 hours to strike whatever targets he wanted so long as he telegraphed his attacks ahead of time, and he gave Ali Khamenei what he wanted by creating a scenario in which he could declare "victory" and have a bunch of parades - That is called Empathy.

But they didn't escalate because they ultimately don't want to escalate. This is why the 12 Hour "do whatever you want" deal that Trump gave Iran was so genius, it gave them ability to determine the SCALE of which Iran responded and to do so with impunity - this is called Empathy.
