I live in Invercargill and it's a shithole of the highest degree but it's actually one of the best places to raise a family there is so much to do for kids and low crime. But it's basically like a town on the Rust Belt lmao.

Also consider Wanaka or Queenstown if you're legit rich, they're the places to be although a lot of shallow people there and it gets cold in winter
